Commute by Foot

Walking is an ideal form of commuting to and from work and school if you live within two miles of the worksite. If you live too far to walk all the way, try combining modes. Walk to the bus stop or walk to meet a carpool partner.

Commuter Lockers

Ventilated clothing lockers for drying and storing belongings are located on the first level of the Library, CAB, Seminar II and the COM building and in the basement of Lab I. Lockers are assigned at the Parking Services office on campus.

Safety

Walkers should always take safety precautions such as: crossing with the lights, watch for moving vehicles, and walk against the oncoming traffic where there are no sidewalks.

Walkers should have a pair of shoes for walking other than their office shoes. Most business dress shoes are not good for walking very far or on unpaved paths.

When walking in traffic areas with particularly bad visibility (such as after dark in the rain) it's recommended that you carry a bicycle strobe light.

Showers & Lockers

Public showers, day lockers and saunas are available at the CRC building. Locks can be checked out for overnight or quarterly use on the wire baskets. You can also bring your own lock, but may not leave it overnight.
