Farm Current Events

"The 'farm team', a group of students in Field Ecology, are all taking on individual projects in the end part of spring quarter to assess ecological attributes of two stands surrounding the Organic Farm to add to the discussion about organic farm expansion. The main facets of our study will consider whether there are any unique species or important habitat features. The two sites of the stands are as follows..."

"I have a lot of respect for vegans. I have a lot of respect for anyone who thinks about how their lifestyle and diet impact the landscapes of the earth and the people, plants and animals that live there. I think it's great to make an effort to have a diet that causes no harm to the planet. But, at the risk of becoming the least popular CPJ columnist, I have to say that I also think that a vegan diet isn't always the best means towards this end."

"Another spring has sprung and another group of students has begun learning how to grow food at the Evergreen Organic Farm. The Practice of Sustainable Agriculture program is an Evergreen tradition; this is approximately the 31st year that students have grown food here."
