The power of a compelling story can never be underestimated. The public sector is responsible for engaging stakeholders, obtaining community buy-in and explaining complex subjects every day. In this class, we will use real-world applications to explore and understand the nuance of successful organizational storytelling. Students will work hands-on with a preselected client organization to apply their learning and develop a viable messaging plan. In this course, students will explore a variety of storytelling tools including basic graphic design and digital media. Students will also consider the issues of equity and power involved with sharing another’s story.

This offering will prepare you for careers and advanced study in:

community studies, business management, communication, media studies
