ARNO ZOSKE CLASSIC 2006

OLYMPIA , Wash . - Evergreen hosted a great tournament this year which included five men's and women's teams that are currently ranked in the top 25 in the NAIA.

Concordia University easily defeated Thompson Rivers 6 - 0. Carroll College secured their tourney win with a 3-1 victory over Simon Fraser today in the final game of the women's tournament.

On the men's side, Corban College surprised Simon Fraser with a 1-0 victory.

The University of British Columbia earned enough points for the tournament win but faced a strong fight by the Evergreen team today. UBC, the 2005 Canadian College Champions, challenged the Geoducks with 26 shots and totaled 19 corner kicks during the game.

Evergreen scored first in the second period. Johnathon Willoughby tapped in a loose ball that teammate James McDonnell snuck past the UBC keeper. Only three minutes later UBC answered back. Steve Frazoa, the men's tournament Most Valuable Player dribbled past defenders for an open shot on Evergreen's net.

Tied at the final buzzer, tournament rules allow two ten minute overtimes. No team was able to score in both overtimes.
