Olympia, WA - Like the men's game last night, today's game ended in a tie with the Heat of University of British Columbia-Okanagan of Canada's CCAA league. Evergreen's Monica Ragan (SO, Boise, ID) put ESC on the board in the first 20 minutes into play.

The Geoducks, ranked 8th in the pre-season conference poll, are looking like a deeper team in 2009. With the return of some veteran players like Marissa Major (Sehome HS), Ragan and Brianna Speed (Lake Washington HS) to the roster the team gains strength over '08's team despite losses like Kate Green to graduation.

The '08 All-Conference First Team honoree Green now co-coaches with John Purtteman.

Evergreen's first goal today happened when Ragan knocked in a header off a well aimed foul kick by Courtney Bohrer.

UBC-O had their turn in the 38th minute with an unassisted goal by #11 (roster not available) following a corner kick.

Evergreen will attempt to notch a victory over the Heat again tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM
