Women's soccer signs first for 2008 season |

January 10, 2008 OLYMPIA, Wash. - Evergreen signed Brianna Speed (Lake Washington High School / Seattle, WA) for the 2008 soccer season. Speed is a varsity member of Lake Washington's team and plays with the HPFC Eagles in the Division 2 Washington State Premier League. Head Coach John Purtteman announced the signing Wednesday with high praise for Speed. "Brianna is a Division I (NCAA) caliber player who will immediately contribute to the team". With the ability to score and defend "She will be able to play anywhere on the field" adds Purtteman. Following her 2007 season, Speed was awarded 4A Kingco All-Conference First Team honors at Lake Washington and has earned that award each year since her freshman season. Speed is an outstanding student-athlete who is taking honors courses at Lake Washington and made the 2006-07 National Honor Roll list. The forward/defender plans to study computer science at Evergreen. |
