OLYMPIA, Wash. - On the road for two games this weekend, the 2007 Women's Soccer Team journey to the distant land of British Columbia to play two strong NAIA Region I teams.

Friday's game, which begins at 3:00 PM, will be a matchup with The University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.

The bigger foe of the weekend double will be against the Clan of Simon Fraser University at noon Saturday. SFU is currently ranked 18th in the NAIA pre-season polls and 3rd in the Region. They stand at 1-0 this season.

Evergreen holds a strong 5th place ranking in the recent Region I pre-season polls.

The Geoducks have played three scrimmage matches so far this season. With a young front line in need of college game experience, Coach Purtteman has been playing the newcomers often in these early season tests.

Some of the top returners to watch include Jenine Adam (Jr. / Midfield), Marissa Major (Sr. / Defense) and Lena Ishii (Sr. / Defense).

Keeper Katie Cagle (So) and Forward Monica Ragan (Fr) are among the many talented new additions to the roster.

Stay tuned for post game reports Friday and Saturday afternoon.
