Day 2 of tournament play concludes for women's teams

Olympia WA - In the opening match of the day Evergreen lost to Rocky Mountain 1-3.

Rocky Mountain (BC) scored first after 59 minutes of play. Tova Gambe moved skillfully around Evergreen defenders for the shot.

Geoducks Lisa Leadon, taking advantage of a perfect long pass by Jenine Adam, scored on a header less than a minute after RMC's first goal. It was the 3 rd goal of the season for Leadon.

In the second period Rocky's Alexis DeLeo and Claire Crosbie scored the final goals of the game. They were assisted by Crosbie and Anna Clark respectively.

Game two of the day saw The University of Victoria (BC) shut out Corban College (WA) 3-0.

The Vikes had 26 shots to the Warriors 6. Corban's keeper, Kim Mendenhall, tried hard to stop the shots and tallied 9 saves in the game.

Goals by Victoria in the first period came from Moira Hood (assisted by Liz Hansen) and Liz Hansen (assist. by Mariel Solsberg). The final goal of the game in the second period was an unassisted shot by Janelle Smith.

Tomorrow the women's tournament play will end following the games of Carroll College versus Simon Fraser University (11:00 AM) and Concordia University versus Thompson Rivers University (1:00 PM).
