December 6, 2004 OLYMPIA, WA -- Capping a rush of post-season awards, Alisha White has been named to the NAIA All-America team for her high-octane offensive performance this season. White was an honorable mention pick making her the third All-America women's soccer player from Evergreen in the last four seasons. White led the Geoducks to their best-ever conference record (8-2-1) and a spot in the Cascade Collegiate Conference post-season tournament. She scored 14 goals in conference play to outpace all other scorers in the league. White had already been named to the All-Conference team and given Conference Newcomer of the Year honors. Last week she was also named to the Region I team. A Bremerton, Washington native, White came to Evergreen after a stellar two-year stint at Walla Walla Community College where she was an NWAACC All-Star selection. Recruited by Eastern Washington University, White ended up at Evergreen on a tip from her Walla Walla coach, John Charman. White will return next year for her senior season-as will 18 of 19 players and all eleven starters-as the Geoducks hope to earn their first-ever national tournament berth. Go to the NAIA website for a complete list of the NAIA All-America selection. |
