OLYMPIA, WA -- Evergreen junior forward Alisha White earned recognition as the Cascade Collegiate Conference and Region I player of the week this week as she led Evergreen to two wins.

Evergreen defeated Albertson College behind White's hat trick as they downed the 'Yotes 4-2. White also had a goal in Evergreen's 2-1 overtime defeat of conference rival Eastern Oregon University.

"It was a big week for Alisha and a big week for us," said Evergreen's head coach Erik Gibson-Snyder. "We are in that time of the season where everyone needs to start stepping it up. Alisha has been a great player for us all season and it is nice to see her efforts getting rewarded with some goals."

White transferred to Evergreen from Walla Walla community college where she scored 20 goals her sophomore season. But the Geoduck had only one goal on the season until her breakout game against Albertson College.

"It wasn't for lack of trying," said Gibson-Snyder. "Our forwards have a great work-rate and they are always looking for the goal. Alisha wasn't getting the bounces early. And our team hadn't learned to play together yet. We are still learning about each other, but we are getting closer to being a cohesive attacking team. The more we play, the more we will score. Alisha will continue to be a big part of that."
