Olympia, WA - "When the going gets tough, the tough get going" is the age-old saying that applies to players/teams in difficult positions. For junior forward Tiffany Fenster (Seattle, WA/Roosevelt HS) the adage fits her performance last week.

With their back to the wall, The Evergreen State College Women's Soccer team (3-4-2 CCC, 4-9-2 Overall) needed to win both of their games last week in order to stay in contention for a Cascade Conference playoff spot.

Against Warner Pacific on Wednesday (Oct. 15) Fenster was one of four Geoducks to score a going a 4-0 shutout of the Knights. Additionally, Fenster was one of four other players to record an assist in the contest. Alone, Fenster was the only Evergreen player to accomplish both, score a goal and record an assist.

Three days later, Saturday (Oct. 18), Fenster followed her performance against Warner Pacific with a 2 goal and 1 assist outing against Cascade. She also finished with a game high 10 shots, 5 on-goal, in only 45 minutes of action.
Evergreen's 4-0 shutout of visiting Cascade was their third consecutive win and fifth shutout this season.

Fenster's dual goal performance was her first of the season.

For the third consecutive year, Fenster is the focal point of Evergreen's attack. In 2001, her freshman season, she lead the team with 12 goals and 5 assist. At the end of the season she was named 1st Team All-Cascade, All-Region and NAIA All-American (Honorable Mention). Last season she doubled her offensive output and lead the Geoducks with 22 goals. For her efforts she was once again name 1st Team All-Conference. This year she is Evergreen's #1 scoring threat with 9 total goals and 3 assists to-date.
