September 29, 2001 SALEM, OR -- The Evergreen women traveled to Western Baptist just one day after the men did, and they returned home with the same result, a 5-0 loss. Western Baptist (5-5, 5-1) wasted no time getting on the board, they scored in the second minute of the game. Evergreen (4-6-1, 3-3) struggled on to find the goal in the game, they took nine shots but none of them were on goal. The Warriors defense never gave the Geoducks any good scoring opportunities, and their offense kept on attacking. Paige Kuske and KeriAnn Lawson led Western Baptist with two goals apiece in the game. The loss keeps Evergreen in the middle of the conference pack, a win would have given Evergreen sole possesion of third place. Evergreen will be in action again on Friday in Portland to play Concordia in a Cascade Conference game. The game will start at 4:00 p.m. Goals by period 1 2 Tot ------------------------------- Evergreen........... 0 0 - 0 Western Baptist..... 4 1 - 5 SCORING SUMMARY: 1. 1:40 WBC Paige Kuske (unassisted) - Stolen from defender in front of goal 2. 9:56 WBC Paige Kuske (Karen Schipper) - 15 yards over keeper 3. 20:22 WBC KeriAnn Lawson (Karen Schipper/Cindy Hale) - 18 yards over keeper 4. 39:08 WBC Jen Troja (Penalty kick) 5. 60:49 WBC KeriAnn Lawson (Sheena Darling) - Beat defender shot from 15 yd Shots: Evergreen 9, Western Baptist 21 Saves: Evergreen 8 (Nora Moloney 8), Western Baptist 0 () Corner Kicks: Evergreen 2, Western Baptist 7 Fouls: Evergreen 6, Western Baptist 7 |
