Soccer Game with Concordia Postponed

September 11, 2001

OLYMPIA, WA -- The Evergreen State College announced today that the Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer game scheduled for tomorrow between Concordia (Ore.) and Evergreen State has been postponed. This comes after the attacks by terrorists in the United States.

The game was scheduled for 4 p.m. tomorrow, but in light of the resent occurrences, it was an easy decision by both athletic departments. "In view of the national climate of uncertainty, there were just more reasons to put off the game than to play it," said athletic director Dave Weber. "There is no doubt everyone in America has a sense of grief today."

The Geoducks (1-0, 2-3) are scheduled to play a home game Friday at 3 p.m. against Western Baptist College. This game as of now, is still set to be played as scheduled.
