Oregon Tech Keeps Evergreen on the Defense in 71-52 Conference Loss

Olympia, WA - ESC trailed by 17 at the half and the closest they could manage was a 9 point gap. Evergreen falls to 5-5 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Evergreen had difficulty defending the Hustlin' Owls, and allow OIT to make 7 three-pointers.

OIT's win snapped their 3 in a row losing streak as Evergreen finds themselves in a slump of 5 losses in a row.

From the opening buzzer OIT went on the offensive and an 11-0 run gave them a 36-19 lead by halftime.

An Amanda Johnston field goal allowed OIT to take its biggest lead of the game, 54-34.

The Geoducks were able to close thethe margin to 60-51, but made just one more point as OIT outscored Evergreen 11-1 before the final buzzer mercifully chimed.

For the Geoducks, Britney Knotts scored 17 points, and Krist Auckland 13. Katie Garcin and Keisha McDonald lead ESC with four rebounds each.

For OIT, Kellie Morey led OIT with 19 points. Johnston finished with 17 and had seven rebounds. Meagan Miyasaka had a game-high nine assists.

After winter break ESC continues conference play with an away game at Cascade College Friday, January 2nd. The following day the Geoducks play at Warner Pacific. Both games begin at 5:30 PM.
