Morrow Cove, CA - The Geoducks won their first ever basketball tournament title at the Cal-Maritime Academy Tournament this weekend. In the championship game with Maine Maritime Academy Evergreen won 63-47 to secure their first place trophy.

Evergreen shot just 18% the first period with a total of 15 points. The team was trailing 26-15 behind Maine Maritime at the half time buzzer.

The team found a strategy to win and scored 48 points in second half. Strong defensive play helped Evergreen put them ahead, allowing Maine Maritime just six points.

Rosalind Lee had 29 points and 24 rebounds in the two games to help her earn the tournament Most Valuable Player award.

Earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team was Joy White who totalled 22 points, 14 rebounds and four assists over two games.

Kristi Auckland also had 23 points and 16 rebounds for the Geoducks.

The Geoducks won the first game of the Cal-Maritime Academy Tournament 73-59 Friday night in their game with Cal Maritime.

In that game Joy White scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Rosalind Lee and Christi Auckland had 12 points apiece with Lee securing 6 rebounds.

Home game play resumes Tuesday, November 25th for ESC as they host the Boxers of Pacific University at 5:30 PM in the Greenhouse.
