Four Sign to Play at Evergreen

Olympia, WA - Women's Basketball adds four more to the 2008-09 roster. Jasmine Horton, LeAsia Jones, Britney Knotts and Sara Skelton have all signed their Letter of Intent to play for the Geoducks.

Horton is a 6' 2" forward out of Foster High School in Tukwila, WA. Averaging 11 points and 5 rebounds per game, Horton is known for her ability to get up and down the court and for her defensive play.

Her senior year, Foster High School advanced to the district playoffs and Jasmine was selected Nisqually 2A First Team-All League.

Horton is interested in pursuing psychology or education while at Evergreen.

5' 11" transfer from Lane Community College & Chico State, LeAsia Jones, is ready to get back into the flow after nursing an injury. While at Chico her game high was 14 points 9 rebounds. Jones attended Oroville High where she averaged 12 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

Jones plans on studying sports marketing.

Britney Knotts, a 5' 7" Guard from Chemeketa Community College and Mountain View High School in Oregon, averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds per game at Chemeketa.

According to head coach Monica Heuer, Knotts is a, "hard nose player that brings toughness on the perimeter"

At Chemeketa, Knotts earned NWAACC All-League Honorable Mention and voted All-Tournament at the Tacoma Community College Crossover Tournament. Additionally Knotts was voted to the NWAACC Southern Region All-Star Team.

Knotts, who will be a junior, is planning on pre-med studies at Evergreen.

A teammate of Knotts at both Chemeketa CC and Mountain View HS, Sara Skelton plays guard and has a great feel for the game.

Working hard on defensive play, the Junior has average 7 points and 4 rebounds per game.

Skelton rounds out the most recent signees to the team, joining a great incoming class and skilled returners.

"These four will add more depth to every position on the court. We have some talented and hard working individuals that will force everyone to play at a higher level" Says Heuer.
