Olympia, WA - After several lead changes throughout the game, Evergreen was able to overcome the team from Northwest University in the final two minutes to hold on for a four point win.

The Geoducks improve their Cascade Conference record to 2-4 and 7-6 overall.

Northwest ends the night with a 3-4 CCC and 5-11 overall record.

Evergreen bumps up to the 8th spot in the conference standings, with NU just ahead at 7th.

A key steal by ESC's Angel Stewart with two minutes to go resulted in a feed to Kristi Auckland who put the Geoducks up by three.

An Evergreen foul would again allow NU to creep within two points.

With 10 seconds remaining, Auckland was able to grab her own rebound and put the ball in for 2 points. Joy White added a point on a foul freebie to give ESC a safe margin as the clock ticked down to 0.

White tied her season's high with 16 points to lead Evergreen scorers. The senior added 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Auckland was close behind with a double double performance of 11 rebounds and 14 points. Sophomore Stewart, a fast improving member of the team, had a career high 11 points that included 3-3 from three point range.

For the Eagles, Erika Hornyak played a well-rounded game to lead all game scorers with 17 points, 4 steals and 6 rebounds. McKenzie Mckean brought in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Geoducks will host two conference games this weekend. Friday Eastern Oregon comes to town followed by College of Idaho on Saturday.

Those teams are ranked 4th and 2nd respectively in the conference.

Both games will be held at 5:30 PM prior to the men's tip-off.
