December 18, 2007 ASHLAND, Ore. - Despite Evergreen closing a twenty point deficit at two minutes left in the game to within one, Southern Oregon was able to regain their advantage with seconds remaining to win 84-77 on their home court. Evergreen shot an impressive 67% from three point range and made 48% of their field goals. Unfortunately, the scoring run of SOU early in the second half was the undoing for the Geoducks tonight. Southern Oregon (8-2 and 2-1 CCC) won their fifth straight as they hold onto second place in the Cascade Conference standings. Evergreen slips to 2-9 overall and 1-2 in the CCC but have the opportunity to improve on that record tomorrow night in Klamath Falls, OR when they play The Oregon Institute of Technology (8-3), Four Evergreen players scored in the double digits led by a sensational performance by Jennifer Solberg. The senior scored a season's high 26 points and added 11 rebounds while shooting 4-4 from outside the three point arc. It was Solberg's fifth double-double of the season. Kristi Auckland (Jr) added 12 points, Joy White and Molly Clark each had 10 points. Auckland and Clark made the closing seconds a nail-biter when they each sunk three pointers in a fight to the finish with SOU. For the Raiders, Chelsey Muri racked up an impressive 29 points and her teammate Jacki Speer added another 23 points and 12 rebounds. |
