OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Women's and Men's Basketball Teams of The Evergreen State College will commemorate a dozen years of games at the home court of cross-town rival St. Martin’s University. The action on Friday night, which begins with the women at 5:00 PM, will be exhibition games for the teams and will not count towards either team’s season record.

On the women’s side, the Geoducks have defeated the Saints just once. On November 7 th 2006 The Geoduck women defeated St. Martin’s 55-52, their first win in eleven meetings.

Evergreen has played two regular season games this season, both losses. Last Friday the team traveled to Montana for the Carroll College Tournament in which they were defeated by Carroll and Montana Tech, two NAIA Frontier Conference teams. Junior Rosalind Lee ( Oakland, CA) led the team in scoring with a combined 28 points and 11 rebound in both games.

Look for Kristi Auckland (Jr. Cascade HS), Jennifer Solberg (Sr. Franklin Pierce HS) and Joy White (Jr. Berkeley, CA) to stand out among many strong contributors to the team.

In 2006 St. Martin’s defeated Evergreen 86-75, their second loss in a row to the Saints. The Geoducks lead the game series with their longest streak of wins being four (2000-2004).

The men’s teams is entering their second exhibition game of the year, having played NCAA Div I Boise State University last Friday night. Evergreen scored 83 points to Boise State’s 123 which saw two Geoducks post 20 plus point games.

Sophomore Nate Menafee (Timberline HS) hit 26 points on the night followed closely by senior David Howard ( Dallas, TX) who posted 24 points and 9 rebounds.
