Olympia, WA - Tomorrow night Evergreen's Women's Basketball Team faces the top team in the Cascade Conference, Eastern Oregon U (23-3, 15-2 CCC / #23 NAIA Division II). After tonight's 79-71 win over another top 3 conference school, College of Idaho, the Geoducks hope their recent momentum will carry over Saturday.

The Yotes led the Geoducks 5 minutes into the first period by as much as 12 points.

A series of C of I fouls in the middle minutes helped Evergreen gain some ground as players went to the free throw line. Joy White (Jr, Berkeley, CA) was able to sink 7 of 8 from the charity line alone.

Evergreen trailed by one (37-36) at the end of the first period.

The Yotes continued their fast play into the second half and with the help of a 3 pointer by Whitney Clark, opened up a cushion of 7 points,.

Just after five minutes had passed, Evergreen had a run of three baskets by Rosalind Lee (Jr, Oakland, CA), Jennifer Solberg (Sr. Franklin Pierce HS) and Angel Stewart (Fr. Davis HS) that tied the game up at 14 minutes. This time the Geoducks never let up as they pulled ahead for an eight point win.

It was just the third time Evergreen has beaten The College of Idaho (Formerly Albertson College) out of 21 meetings.

Josie Pugsley led the Yotes with 13 points. Whitney Clark had 12 and Kayla Brewer had 10 to round up their teams top scorers.

Two Geoducks had double-double performances. Lee had her 4th one of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds followed by Solberg with 10 and 11. White had a season's high 19 points and hit 91% (11-12) from the free throw line.

Two more team members scored in the double digits. Molly Clark (Sr. Boise, ID) scored 12 of her 14 points on three pointers. Kristi Auckland (Jr. Cascade HS) added 15 points.

Evergreen is now 7-10 in the CCC and 8-18 overall. The College of Idaho drops to 13-4 in the CCC and 16-8 overall.

Tomorrow's game vs EOU begins at 5:30 PM.
