February 5, 2008

OLYMPIA, WA - Northwest University upset the Geoducks at home, defeating ESC 74-55. The loss makes a position for a Cascade Conference playoff spot more uncertain, having held the 8th ranking prior to tonight's loss. The top eight teams advance to the playoffs and Evergreen will be facing strong conference teams in their next three games at home.

Northwest University improves their overall record to 3-20 and 2-13 in the CCC. Evergreen falls to 6-18 and 5-10.

Two Northwest players Rachel Travis and Brittany Bowsher hit 20 point plus games. Travis bringing in 26 points, including making 10 of 11 field goal attempts and 3 for 3 from the three point arch. Bowsher hit 7 of 16 field goal attempts and found net on 3 of 4 three pointers.

Kristi Auckland (Jr. Cascade High School) led Evergreen scorers with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. This week's Cascade Conference Player of the Week Jennifer Solberg (Sr. Franklin Pierce High School) struggled to find a clear shot, making 5 of 10 from field goal range. She totaled 11 points and 8 rebounds.

Evergreen plays Northwest Christian College (Eugene, OR) this Saturday at home. NCC is 7-7 in league play for sixth place.
