OLYMPIA, WA - Jennifer Solberg (Sr. Franklin Pierce HS) was named this weeks Cascade Conference Women's Basketball Player of The Week. The 5'10" senior guard scored a season and career high 28 points in Saturday's game at Corban College. She also ranks 2nd in the conference and 15th in the NAIA Div II in total rebounds, averaging 9.3 a game. Solberg has tallied 9 double-double performances this season. The Geoducks play Northwest University tonight at the Green House in a conference game. ESC is currently 6-17 overall and 5-9 in CCC action. They sit at 8th place in the conference, the final spot that advances to the playoffs.

Evergreen's beloved Geoduck was named among the top 3 basketball mascots in the country by ESPN Sports Travel. Check out ESPN for the full online story!

The men's basketball team (15-5, 10-4 CCC) has moved up to 3rd in the Cascade Conference following two hard won victories this past weekend in Oregon.

The Geoducks have extended their win streak to five games and have become the team to watch out for in the conference as they are just one game out of the lead in the league. The team held 33rd spot in the most recent NAIA Div II rankings. This weeks ratings will be announced later today.

Friday night ESC defeated Concordia U (OR) 73-70 and Saturday it took overtime play to defeat Corban College 99-91. Team scoring leader, Nathan Menefee (So, Timberline HS) has slipped to number 2 in scoring average in the CCC but maintains an excellent 21.6 ppg in 20 games. The team continues conference play tonight at 7:30 in Olympia as they host Northwest University (11-12, 7-7 CCC).
