Derrick Pringle joins women's basketball staff

OLYMPIA , Wash. -Evergreen alumus Derrick Pringle has been tabbed by head basketball coach Monica Heuer to join the Geoducks for the 2006-07 season. Pringle, who graduated from Evergreen in 2000, will join Heuer on the bench as an assistant coach.

"Derrick brings a strong passion to the game of basketball," said coach Heuer.  "He enjoys working with the student-athletes and has a way of connecting with them. He also has a strong connection with many of the high schools and AAU teams in the area. Anytime you can bring back an alumus, that's always a plus."

Pringle has worked with AAU teams, high school boys and girls, and at the community college level.  The last few years Pringle worked at Chief Leschi High School where he served as the athletic director and basketball coach. He was selected Coach of the Year in 2003-2004.
