OLYMPIA, Wash.--Junior captain Jenny Olson was named Evergreen's Most Valuable Player at the women's basketball team banquet last Thursday night. Olson, who was tabbed an All-Conference honorable mention performer, lead the Geoducks in scoring and rebounds.

Olson has set several career marks at Evergreen including scoring, rebounding and steals--despite being just a junior.

Senior co-captain Alexis Baruso was named the team's Most Inspirational Player. Baruso, who saw her season cut short by injuries, remained a central part of Evergreen's drive to a third-straight playoff appearance.

Junior guard Ashley Miller was chosen by teammates as the best defensive player. Miller was also honored with the "Geoduck Award", which is voted upon by the coaching staff. Miller, who was second on the team in assists, will return for her senior season with the majority of her teammates as the Geoducks lost just three seniors, including the injured Baruso, for next winter.
