Evans signs with Evergreen

Olympia, WA - The Evergreen Geoducks added NWAACC All-Star guard Melissa Evans to their 2006-07 recruiting class today, announced Head Women's Basketball Coach Monica Heuer.

Evans, a 5'6 guard from Shoreline Community College averaged 15 points and six rebounds per game for the Dolphins.

Melissa is an all around player. She is very athletic, plays hard defensively and can really get up and down the court. She is ready to seize the moment and take advantage of what we have to offer as a basketball program and as an institution, said Coach Heuer.

Evans played high school basketball at Wellston High School in St. Louis , MO. There she averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds per game. She was a starter and All-Conference player all 4yrs.

Evans plans to pursue a degree that combines education with African American studies.

She is the fourth played to sign with the Geoducks this year, and the third NWAACC All-Star from the state of Washington .
