KIRKLAND , Wash. - Northwest University was able to hold off an Evergreen comeback to defeat them 58-56 tonight in Cascade Conference play.

Northwest U. let a 12 point lead slip away in the second half as the Geoducks moved to within one point at 51-50 with 4:46 left in the game. The teams went scoreless until Jenny Olson put Evergreen up by one at a score of 52-51. With 2:53 to go, Northwest U's Brittany Bowsher tallied 5 points to put the Eagles back in front. Joy White's jumper with 27 seconds left pulled Evergreen State to within before two free throws by Jasmine Yeldon sealed the victory for Northwest U. with 6 seconds left.

The leading scorer for Evergreen was Molly Clark with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Olson scored 15 points and grabbed 9 boards and Jennifer Solberg had 7 points and 10 rebounds for the Geoducks.

Northwest U. (9-12, 4-5 CCC) was led by Sam McCracken with 22 points and 6 rebounds, Jasmine Yeldon followed with 9 points and 8 rebounds and Brittany Bowsher put in 7 for the Eagles.

Evergreen will travel to Oregon next weekend to take on Oregon Instititute of Technology on Friday the 19th and Southern Oregon University Saturday the 20th.
