Evergreen suffers loss in California

November 26, 2005

Menlo, CA - The Evergreen State College Geoducks took a hard hit on Saturday night in a 34-60 loss to Menlo College, in their first of two games on the road in Northern California. The Geoducks stayed in the game for about the first ten minutes, but the Oaks eventually found their stride and ran, never to look back.

Half time found Evergreen down 18-30, senior, Dalia Gomez, leading the Geoducks with 8 points and 3 rebounds, but the Oak's, Kepua Lee, doubled that leading both teams at half with 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Similar play occurred in the second half, although this time Evergreen was out-rebounded 9-22, preventing numerous points from being put on the Geoduck's side of the board.

Gomez continued to lead Evergreen in points with 13 for the game, where senior Rachel Ross lead in rebounds with 6.

The Evergreen State College will be taking on Cal-State East Bay on Sunday, November 27 at 5p.m.
