Geoducks earn berth to third straight post season play

Portland, OR - The Evergreen State College women (8-19 overall, 6-12 CCC) lost 51-60 after a good fight against first place Warner Pacific (21-7 overall, 16-2 CCC). Although a loss was recorded, the Geoducks will move on to the Cascade Conference play-offs.

The Knights led the Geoducks 25-22 at the half time break, Evergreen having trouble from the three point line going 0-5.

Evergreen's Ashley Miller and Dalia Gomez led the Geoducks with 12 each, while Rachel Ross put in ten points as well. Danielle Keenan grabbed the team high of 13 rebounds. Warner Pacific's Nicole Brown scored the game high of 14 points, closely followed by Angie Sun with 12 and Amber Stevens adding ten.

Although the Geoducks recorded a loss tonight, Southern University were defeated as well by Corban College, securing Evergreen's third straight berth into post season play.

With Concordia University's loss to Oregon Tech tonight, the Geoducks moved to seventh place. With this placement the ladies will be traveling to take on Eastern Oregon University this coming Tuesday, the 21st. The game is recommended to be played at 7 p.m. but has not yet been decided.
