Evergreen one win closer to post season goal

Portland, OR - The Evergreen State College women (6-18 overall, 6-11 CCC) kept their sights of post season play alive as they defeated Cascade College (2-26 overall, 0-16 CCC) 53-39 tonight in Portland.

The Geoducks taking control in the first half, led 29-14 at the break. The latter half of the competition Evergreen stayed in control, ending their second to last game with a win.

Senior Rachel Ross recorded a season high with 24 points and ten rebounds for a double-double, while Jenny Olson grabbed 13 rebounds for the team high. The Geoducks had a standout night from the charity stripe shooting 91.7 percent. The same couldn't be had from behind the three point line with Evergreen putting up 12.5 percent.

The Geoducks will take on first place Warner Pacific (19-7 overall, 14-2 CCC) tomorrow night, Saturday the 18th at 5:30 p.m. A win is almost necessary for Evergreen to move on to post season play, depending on the outcomes of Southern Oregon, Concordia and Northwest tomorrow night as well.
