Women's Basketball Win Third in a Row

Kirkland, WA - The Evergreen State College women's basketball team forced 16 second half turnovers to overcome a five point halftime deficit and defeat The Northwest University Eagles Friday night 65-61.

The win is the Geoducks' third in a row putting them in a tie for fifth place in the conference standings with Concordia University at 4-4.

Evergreen was led in scoring for the second game in a row by sophomore forward Jenny Olson. The Loon Lake native scored a game-high 20 points while freshman Kamrica Ary-Turner added 12 and senior Heather Hyde tallied 11.

Northwest was led by Kelly Clark who nabbed 16 points and 12 rebounds.

The Geoducks look to stretch their winning streak to four games as they travel to Cascade College Tuesday night. Evergreen is in the middle of a five game road swing that concludes with games at Eastern Oregon and Albertson College this weekend.

The Geoducks will return to campus for home games against Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech January 28th and 29th at 5:30 p.m.
