Geoducks Looking for a Win Tonight in Game With Willamette

September 7, 2009

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Evergreen Volleyball remains winless so far this season with a 0-7 record.  They hope to change that tonight when they host NCAA Div. III Willamette University (1-4) in a non-league match. The Geoducks played some tough teams this past weekend at the Central Washington University Tournament which included NCAA Div. II teams.

Evergreen matched up with the host team Central, Walla Walla University, Sonoma State and Seattle Pacific last Thursday and Friday, a good experience for the young team that has back just three starters from '08.

Head coach Clay Blackwood was happy with the way the team played against the strong teams at the tournament and as a coach he took advantage of the non-conference schedule to try out some different rolls for team members. Blackwood believes he has found a better rotation for the players during games and hopes that will maximize their individual play results.

Come out to the Greenhouse on a rainy labor day evening to support our Geoducks at 7 PM!
