Kandice Gleaves led all players in kills tonight


Olympia, WA - The Geoducks went into five games with #5 conference ranked Concordia University tonight. Geoduck Kandice Gleaves led all players in kills with 18 and an excellent .405 hitting percentage.

Tomorrow night Evergreen hosts Warner Pacific College (4-10 CCC, 6-10) at 7 PM in a conference matchup. Fans may join Evergreen players in acknowledging National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing an article of pink clothing or accessory.

In tonight's first game, Evergreen made it clear that Concordia was not going to walk away with an easy win. The Geoducks never dropped more than three points behind in the first game.

Despite losing the match (25-23,23-26,25-19,23-25,15-12) Evergreen played determined volleyball.

In addition to Gleave's 18 kills, the junior totaled 2 assists, 5 digs, 3 solo blocks and 2 block assists. Setter Katie Huston had 33 assists 4 kills and 3 service aces. Jessica Dubois tallied 10 kills, 3 service aces and 13 defensive digs.

For Concordia, Jamie Richards led the team with 10 kills and 10 digs. Setter Skyler Kamaka had 6 kills, 43 assists, 1 ace, 13 digs, 1 block and 1 block assist.

Evergreen slips to 11 place in the conference with a 1-12 record, but can walk away from this game knowing they are an improved team.
