Team Plays Well but Loses in Three Games

Olympia, WA - Evergreen State played well against the current #3 team in the Cascade Conference, Eastern Oregon, tonight in the Green House but came away winless in the match. The team hustled to keep in the game but suffered from errors as the lost 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-10).
Evergreen was led in kills by Jessica Dubois (Tumwater, WA), Kandice Gleaves (Olympia, WA) and Madeline Blevens (La Conner, WA) who tallied 11, 8 & 7 respectfully. Katie Huston (Newcastle, WA) helped on the teams 30 kills with 26 of the assists. Blevens and Huston had a block assist apiece.
Two players for EOU were in the double digits in kills. Jessica Lea and Grace Deboodt hand 12 and 11. Lea also contributed 15 assists, 1 solo block and 3 block assists. Melanie Ceciliani was strong on defense as well with 2 solo blocks, one block assist and 7 digs. She contributed 9 kills as well.
Game two saw Evergreen going neck and neck with the Mounties, losing that game by just 2 points. The Geoducks tied the game at 21 points before two attack errors allowed EOU to pull ahead for the win.
In the final game ESC started strong early but then stalled at 5 points as EOU gained seven straight points.
Tuesday night Evergreen hosts Northwest University in a 7 PM game.
