Swift brings skill and leadership to roster |

March 27, 2008 OLYMPIA, Wash. - Caitlin Swift, the latest addition to the 2008 Volleyball roster, has two years of college playing experience behind her and will be a welcome addition to the Geoducks squad. As a 5'11" Middle/setter, Caitlin has been playing the game for six years and in that short time has received numerous honors. Swift was a team captain at Liberty High School in Renton, WA where she earned KingCo honorable mention, Second Team honors and lettered three years. Playing at Olympic College the past two years, Swift was named her teams Most Valuable Player, team captain and earned NWAACC Northern Division First Team honors during the 2007 season. A strong student, Swift has earned academic leadership awards three times from Olympic College, was named to the 2007 NWAACC Academic Team and recognized with an Athletic Leadership Award. Head coach Clay Blackwood signed Caitlin this week. "I recruited and coached Caitlin her freshman year" recalls Blackwood, who coached at Olympic CC prior to Evergreen. "I've continued to watch her grow as a player and I knew she was the right fit to again play for me and our program at Evergreen". Swift will be enrolled at Evergreen this fall and plans on focusing her education towards a teaching degree. |
