OLYMPIA, Wash. – Kandice Gleaves scored a season high 14 kills for the Geoducks but her efforts were not enough to stop Northwest University from defeating the team 30-24, 30-19, 30-20.

The visiting Eagles (6-11), currently 9th in the Cascade Conference, took the early lead in the first game earning six points before Evergreen made it onto the scoreboard. The Geoducks eventually closed to within 3 points late in the match before a series of errors closed the game with NU taking the win.

Errors were the undoing for the Geoducks in tonight's match posting 24 attack errors to NU's 10. The bulk of those occuring late in the match as fatigue noticeably affected the players.

Sabrina Tan followed closely behind Gleaves kill earnings with 11. Katie Huston contributed to Evergreen's points with 15 set assists and 18 defensive digs. Gleaves was playing front and back all night, also adding a defensive tally of 14 digs to her game totals.

Northwest relied on teamwork in their scoring effort with seven players earning kill credits. Lauren Holtz led her team with 10 kills followed closely by Gina Lubanovici with 9. Setter Tarah Petrick earned 11 assists and libero Andrea Cotton tallied 20 defensive digs.

Evergreen continues their winless streak at 15 losses. The team hosts Northwest Christian College Saturday at 7:00 PM.
