Northwest defeats Evergreen in three games |

October 2, 2007 KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest University swept a depleted Evergreen State College team, 3-0 (30-15, 30-20, 30-18) in Cascade Conference volleyball play tonight. With injuries and illness ESC only had 6 healthy players playing in tonight’s contest. Sabrina Tan (Bainbridge Island, WA) led Evergreen (0-9, 0-9 CCC) with 9 kills and 10 defensive digs. Kandice Gleaves (Olympia, WA) added another 8 kills for the Geoducks. Katie Huston (Bellevue, WA) had 20 set assists in the game. Lauren Holtz (Brier, WA) led Northwest U. (4-7, 3-6 CCC) with 13 kills, 23 attacks, and 11 defensive digs. Maddie Krahn (Hockinson, WA) had 12 kills and Laura Peterson (Mt. Vernon, WA) finished with 11 on the night. Setter Tarah Petrick (Monroe, WA) had 40 assists for the Eagles. Evergreen returns to action Friday, traveling to Eugene, OR for a match against Northwest Christian College at 7 PM. |
