OLYMPIA, Wash. - Evergreen impressed fans this weekend with their tight team play despite losing matches Friday and Saturday.

Friday night Cascade college swept games 30-24, 30-20, 30-21 to defeat the Geoducks. Evergreen's loss was their first to Cascade since 2005.

For Evergreen, who has just 6 on the court, Natasha Taito led the team with 10 kills.

Vanessa Fleetwood led the Thunderbirds with 9 kills.

In Saturday nights game with Warner Pacific the Geoducks played a hard fought game that excited the crowd with long rallies and skillfull saves by both teams.

Evergreen gave their best for a game win and in the 3rd game they kept the game tied 15-15 for the first half. Unable to sub players in and out of the game, the fatigue of the hard play began to show as Evergreen players increased their errors towards the end.

Warner Pac defeated Evergreen 30-17, 30-17, 30-22 to give Evergreen their 6th loss in a row.

The next games are on the road for Evergreen. Friday they play Albertson College in Caldwell, ID and Saturday in La Grande, OR against Eastern Oregon University.
