Play improves but not enough for Evergreen

October 6th - 7th, 2006

Olympia, WA - For the second weekend in a row Evergreen lost to Cascade Conference teams on Friday and Saturday.

Friday night versus Concordia University (Portland, OR) the geoducks had some opportunities to win some match games, but their occasional game leads evaporated in team errors and opponents rallying back to take control.

Evergreen lost to the Cavaliers 0-3 with scores of 28-30, 20-30, 26-30.

Freshman Kandice Gleaves had a strong game with 14 kills. Evergreen's squad is without senior Emily Peterson who has left the team.

Saturday Evergreen lost 23 - 30, 18 - 30, 21 - 30 to Corban College.

Although there were some exciting rally's, showing that Evergreen has the passion to win, the errors in setting up offensiveplays continue to plague the geoducks attacking line.

Madeline Blevens led Evergreen in kills with 7. Libero Ann Forman tallied 18 defensive digs. Chelsea Jacobson had 12 set assists. Corban's leading killer was Ashley Lange with 8.

The Geoducks are on the road this week to play Northwest University on October 13th.
