KIRKLAND, Wash. -- The nation's 22nd-ranked volleyball team wasted little time dispatching The Evergreen State College last night as the undefeated Eagles of Northwest University took three straight games from the Geoducks (30-15, 30-13, 30-16).

It is the third straight loss for Evergreen, who opens the season on a five-game road swing.

Sara Bendorf recorder 12 kills on the night for Northwest while the Geoducks managed just 13 as a team. Senior outside hitter Elyse Johnston accounted for nearly half of Evergreen's kills with six in the match. Johnston was the only Geoduck with more kills than hitting errors on the night.

Chelsea Jacobson had 11 assists for the Geoducks while her Eagle counterpart, Alison Simmons, recorded 39.

Evergreen has ten days to regroup before taking a trip to Portland, Oregon to face Concordia University at 7:00 pm on the 16 th of September.
