Klamath Falls, Ore. -- The Geoduck volleyball team missed an early start time and never got untracked in a 30-0 (forfeit), 30-10, 30-10 loss at Oregon Tech Saturday in volleyball. The Geoducks didn't remember that the match was scheduled for 1 p.m. instead of the traditional 7:00 p.m. because Oregon Tech has its athletic auction set for this evening. By the time Oregon Tech SID Bobby Thompson tracked the Olympia, Washington kids and coach Bill Lash down it was 12:15 p.m.

The team arrived at the gym shortly after 1:00 p.m. but according to the game officials the Geoducks had to forfeit game one which went to Tech 30-0.

The Owls (14-7, 10-4) had little trouble defeating Evergreen (5-14, 2-12) which hadn't had a chance to warm up. Tech jumped to a 16-2 advantage in game two and coasted in from there and built an 18-8 lead in game three and scored the final 13 points of the game.

Emily Peterson had three kills for Evergreen State while Amanda Johns had four digs.

The Geoducks return to action next Friday and Saturday at Warner Pacific College and Cascade College. Both games are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
