Geoducks Eaten Up by Owls |

September 30, 2005 OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Evergreen State College volleyball team suffered its first home loss of the season as the visiting Oregon Tech Owls downed the Geoducks in three games 30-19, 30-16, 30-14. Evergreen was over-powered by the Owl front line of Melissa Frank, Michelle Klaja and Krista Wooley who recorded 26 kills on the night-one more than the entire Geoduck team that was undone by attacking with 19 on the night. Evergreen Sophomore Mattie Blevens led Evergreen's attack with eight kills on the night. Elyse Johnston added seven more. Emily Peterson anchored the Geoduck defense with 15 digs in the match to lead all players. The loss drops Evergreen to 2-6 in conference play while the Owls climb to 7-1 in conference and 11-4 overall. The Geoducks return to action tomorrow night to host Southern Oregon University in a 7:00 p.m. match. |
