LA GRANDE, OR -- Tonight the Evergreen State College Geoducks sough revenge for an early season loss and claimed it from the Mountaineers in a three-game sweep (32-30, 30-26, 30-22) at Quinn Coliseum. Eastern lost a 20-10 lead in game 1 and never recovered, as Evergreen collected 11 team blocks in the match.

Erin Phelps (5-9, So., Nampa, Idaho) led Eastern with 14 kills. Kaki McLean (5-10, So., Paulina, Ore.) was the only other Mountaineer with double-digit kills with 10. McLean also led all Mountaineers with 14 digs.

Cassie Beyer (5-7, Sr., Spirit Lake, Idaho) and McLean combined for 7 service aces, with 4 and 3, respectively. Evergreen got a 10-kill, 17-dig performance from Stephanie Short (Spokane, Wa/Shadle Park H.S.). Short also ended the night with a .308 (10-2-26) hitting percentage.

Team wise, the Geoducks hit .211 (42-16-123) versus the Mountaineers .021 (38-35-145).

Evergreen will cross the border into Idaho to play its final road game this season at Albertson College Saturday (Nov 2) night. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
