KIRKLAND, WA -- Evergreen picked up their third Cascade Conference win on Tuesday night against Northwest College. The win was the second on the road for Evergreen (5-8, 3-7) in the conference.

Evergreen lost the first set to the Eagles (4-9, 2-8) 23-30, but won the next two games by the score of 30-28. The fourth game was controlled by Northwest 21-30, but the Geoducks hung on to win the final game 15-13. Evergreen struggled in the first game to find much of an attack, but in the final four games, they Geoducks had 56 kills to overpower the Eagles.

The Geoducks were led by their two middle blockers Courtney Brandon (Pomeroy, Wash. / Walla Walla CC) and Stephanie Short (Spokane, Wash./ Spokane Falls CC). Brandon had a game high 22 kills, while Short added 18. Anna Murray (Olympia, Wash./ St. Martin's) had a good night offensively as well for the Geoducks adding 11 kills and two service aces.

The Geoducks have played well in their last three games winning two of three, and the game that they lost, they played well and kept the match close against the 8th ranked team in the NAIA, Concordia (Ore.). The Geoducks have six conference games left in the season, with three of their next four at home, this should help them as they shoot for their first post-season appearance.

Evergreen will be in action again on Tuesday the 16th down in Portland as they take on Western Baptist College in a game that was rescheduled from an earlier date. The game will start at 7:00 p.m.
