Geoducks Get an Early Start in Outdoor Competition

PARKLAND, Wash. - Evergreen sent a small group of athletes to the PLU Spring Open this last weekend in what was the first outdoor meet of 2009 for the team. Although there was only three Geoducks running they held their own, and came up with some noticable finishes.
Sophmore Ryan Lara got to a good start with a 53.27 in the 400 meters, grabing an 8th place finish.
Sophmore Liam Rockwell kicked it off with a 2:06.71 800 meter run, finishing 7th overall. It was his only event of the day.
Senior Jason Shoemaker began his season with the 100 meter dash, crossing the line in 12.48 seconds.
Look for the Geoducks in their next meet on March 14th at the Mt. Hood CC Saints Open in Gresham, Ore.
