Penalty in overtime loses game for Evergreen |

September 15, 2007 PORTLAND, Oregon – Evergreen was defeated 2-1 in overtime today at Warner Pacific. WPC (1-5-0) snapped a five game losing streak and scoring drought with the Cascade Conference win over the Geoducks, scoring their first goals of the season. Evergreen was on the scoreboard first as Evergreen's Shawn Farrow scored unassisted at the 66:21 mark. His fourth goal of the season. After the first half the Geoducks trailed 5-23 in shots taken. J.B. Cunha scored both of the Knights goals. Cunha's first goal, just two minutes after Farrow's point, was double assisted as Davor Lukic crossed the ball from left to right where Luis Galvan tapped it to cunha who looped it over the scrum in front of the goal. The remainder of the half the two teams were tangled at 1-1. The second half shooting was much more balanced with Evergreen having the advantage in shots at 9-7. In the overtime, Evergreen fouled Warner's Cunha as he made a run at the goal. Awarded the penalty kick, Cunha sent the ball past Stalnik into the bottom left corner, ending the game. With the loss, Evergreen slips to 1-5-0 overall and 0-3 in the conference. Evergreen hosts Albertson College of Idaho Friday, September 21st at 5 PM.
