Geoducks shots miss mark in 1-4 loss to the Eagles of NU |

September 5, 2007 KIRKLAND, WA – The Evergreen State College opened their 2007 Cascade Conference play tonight with a 1-4 loss to Northwest University. All of Northwest’s (2-0, 1-0) scoring came in the first half beginning with Kyle Veach as he knocked one in from the right side 22 minutes into the game. Less than 3 minutes later Micah Williams put one in the goal net on a cross and assist from Kyle Veach. Jeff Dickison of NU scored at the 36:14 mark with a ten yard shot right in front of the goal. Northwest’s final score of the night came off an own goal by Evergreen State giving the Eagles a 4-0 lead at the half. Second half was scoreless until Shawn Farrow of Evergreen (1-3, 0-1) put the Geoducks on the scoreboard with his goal at 61:48 as he split two Northwest U. defenders and off a pass from Jesse Wheelock (Kent, WA). It was the third goal of the season thus far for Farrow. Evergreen out shot NU 11 to 9 and goalie Nick Tasche (Edmonds, WA) had one save on the night. Tasche earned Cascade Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his play in last weekends Zoske Classic. Evergreen plays Geoduck Alumni this Saturday at 1 PM.
