Simon Fraser wins fifth edition of Zoske Classic

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Simon Fraser wins 5th edition of the Arno Zoske Soccer Classic with a total of 17 points. University of British Columbia was the runner up with 11 points, University of Saskatchewan in third with 9 points and Evergreen State in 4th with 3 points.
In the first game of the day, University of Saskatchewan defeated University of British Columbia 3-2 in the first 10 minute, sudden-death overtime. David Patterson of the Huskies scored unassisted for the win.
An emotional second game saw Evergreen lose to NAIA Region I rival Simon Fraser University 0-4. SFU kept the Geoducks on the defensive taking 22 shots in the game to ESC's 4. Energy was high throughout the game that provoked 8 cautions during competition.
The next game for Evergreen (1-2-0) is in Kirkland at Northwest University, the first Cascade Conference game for ESC.
