Tired looking Evergreen team has 1-3 loss to Concordia
October 19, 2006
OLYMPIA , WA - Maybe it was the change in the weather? Both teams took their time getting into the game, but Evergreen never seemed to wake up during their loss to Concordia University.
Players and coaches on both teams grew frustrated with officials calls, or lack of them, as the game progressed. Concordia seemed to handle this the best as they kept Evergreen on the defensive a large part of the game.
The first goal happened in the 11th minute when CU's Tom Trullinger was open to a cross pass by Skyler Kimball from the center of the penalty box. Ten minutes later a similar situation unfolded. Cavalier Mirzet Sacirovic took advantage of a feed by Kossivi Alokpovi for the goal.
Evergreen's only goal was the result of miscommunication by Concordia players. Michael Graves sent a long pass to Johnathan Willoughby that rolled by CU's defender and keeper as Willoughby strolled alongside the ball to the net without touching it.
Concordia's Tyler Camp scored late in the game, dribbling past defenders for the final point of the game.
Evergreen men's soccer will be away Saturday when the play Cascade College in Portland, OR.
