Evergreen Shuts out Cascade 3-0
September 28, 2006
OLYMPIA , Wash. - Evergreen now sits at 2-1 in the Cascade Conference following today's 3-0 win over Cascade College of Portland, OR.
Compared to the more physical recent matches, this game happened without any major controversy. Evergreen had just 10 fouls the entire match to Cascades 19 and 2 yellow cards. Some soccer fans may have been perplexed.
Evergreen patiently kept Cascade on the defensive the entire first period taking 10 shots to Cascades 4.
After the half-time Evergreen decided to get down to business as they upped their pressure on the Cascade goal.
Seventy minutes into the game the first point happened after a blocked shot by Eduardo Milan was passed to Matt Curry by Sean Grisham. Curry took the clear shot. Both Eduardo and Grisham were credited with the assist.
Curry again scored unassisted with a hard boot into the upper right end of Cascades net. Seven minutes later Ryan Mulnick fed the ball to Conor Lacy for the final goal of the game.
Evergreen will play Saturday in Oregon against Concordia University.
