OLYMPIA , Wash. - Another close loss for the Evergreen Men's Soccer Team in a week. This time they fell victim to Trinity Western University out of Canada 1-2.
Evergreen was first on the scoreboard when freshman Sean Grisham (Steilacoom, WA) fed a pass inside to Eduardo Milan (Jr, Seattle, WA) who hit a low shot to the Spartans net
Trinity Western racked up an impressive nine fouls in the first period in the physical game. With five minutes left in the first period Evergreen's James McDonnell (Sr) and Trinity player Jason Flint (Sr) tussled on the ground. Arms were thrown and legs were kicked. Their conduct led to red cards for both players. Both teams played with 10 players the remainder of the first period.
The combo of Adrian Kekec (Sr) and Nick Perugini (Sr) on Trinity's squad were a formidable pair against Evergreen. Adrian had one goal at 60 minutes and 10 shots on goal while Perugini had one assist, 1 shot and a goal at 56 minutes
Evergreen stands at 0-2 this season. The upcoming Arno Zoske Classic will see the men play Simon Fraser on Saturday and U of British Columbia on Sunday.
